It has been brought to my attention that I should keep a blog of what's happening with my ponies! So today I shall start. :)

Well, the ponies have actually been in a bit of a disagreement. We think they're in heat. One of the mares was even acting studdish, which she's never done before. Don't know what's up with that. We think she has some other health problems, too. The vet is coming later this week, and we're going to work on fixing them.

Horses/ponies...what a mystery!

It's going to be VERY hot tomorrow...a little worried about the ponies actually. Will make sure they have plenty of water and salt and maybe a couple showers with the hose throughout the day!
It's not even 7:00 in the morning yet, and I'm already angry and frustrated. Nobody better cross me today! Watch out!

Yay! Made it to another Friday! Work was torture today...TORTURE, I TELL YOU! The clock just would NOT go fast enough, no matter how much I willed it to! :D

The deer flies are so nasty outside...anybody have any really good tricks for getting rid of them? And the mosquitoes, too!

Still doing a lot of reading on equine nutrition...very interesting stuff. Started doing some reading on stable/farm management, too. If anybody could point me to some good websites about those topics, that would be great!

I had a pretty easy day at work today, which was nice. Spent some time organizing and cleaning out some stuff. I'm so glad it's Friday.

It's going to be hot and humid this weekend, though. That's not so nice!!!!!! I have a lot of stuff to do outside, so I guess I'll be doing everything extra early in the morning before it gets hot.

Have to run some errands, too...maybe I'll do those around noon in the hottest part of the day.

Have to make some fly spray for the horses, too...the bugs are HORRIBLE...anybody have any really good fly spray recipes???

Left in place, organic matter in the form of manure or wasted feed and forage will get churned into the surface, increasing the water holding capacity of your lot, which means more mud!

I just read this on a horsekeeping website...it could possibly be one of the best tidbits of information I've heard on horsekeeping in a while! :)

It is SO humid that you can see the thick blanket of air!!! It will be very uncomfortable to sleep tonight!!!

Thank goodness tomorrow is a holiday. :)

Although I wish they would knock it off with the fireworks!!! The sun hasn't even set yet.
